Malé

As the capital of the Maldives, Malé itself is not a diving destination, but it serves as the essential gateway to exploring world-class dive sites. From here, a short boat ride takes you to the dive-rich North Malé Atoll. The dive sites here are diverse, ranging from the classic Banana Reef coral gardens to cleaning stations where manta rays congregate during the wet season (May-October), catering to divers of all levels. You can admire colorful tropical fish and coral, and have the chance to encounter larger marine life such as turtles and reef sharks. The best time to visit is during the dry season (November to April), when the sea is calm and visibility is at its peak.
